Astrophotography Tools

Planning calculators built for real equipment and real sky data. Set your rig once; both tools pick it up.

Two questions come up before every session: will this target fit my frame, and what will this planet actually look like on my sensor. These tools answer both with live numbers instead of rules of thumb. The field of view calculator drags a to-scale sensor footprint over real survey imagery, checks fit and sampling, and counts usable guide stars. The planetary calculator computes each planet's apparent size for any date, shows it at true scale on your chip, and works out which of your three frame-rate ceilings binds. Everything updates as you type, every shared link reproduces the exact setup, and every catalogue figure traces to a manufacturer document.

Your saved rigs

No rigs saved yet. Open either tool, set up your telescope and camera, and save the combination — it will be waiting here and in both tools.

Rigs are stored in this browser only. Nothing is uploaded, and clearing site data removes them; a copied link is the durable record of any setup.
